The American's with Disabilites Act of 1990, (ADA) requires that commercial facilities, and places of government, public accommodations, transportation and telecommunications facilities must provide equal and equivalent access to individuals with disabilities. In addition to the Federal ADA requirements, each State has State specific requirements which must be used in conjunction with the Federal requirements to meet accessibility requirements.
To help clarifiy the issues and requirements for ADA compliance within the State of California, we have created this web site with abreivated summaries of code requirements and graphic illustrations describing specific conditions. This site is intended to provide a graphic summary of the significant State and Federal code requirements for accessibility in the State of California.
